不少西餐廳，尤其是高級的西餐廳，往往都不接受walk-in，所以電話預約就變得相當重要。
想在預約是說出一口流利的地道英文，讓對方一聽就懂？下文的攻略將會為你帶來莫大的幫助。
情景一： 當你想預約位置
你會聽到：
Receptionist: Hello! This is ABC restaurant. How can I help you?
接線生︰你好！這是ABC餐廳，請問有甚麼事呢？
如果你想預約晚餐，你可以回應：
You: I would like to reserve a table for three on Sunday night.
你︰我想於星期日的晚餐時段訂一張三人桌。
或者︰
You: I would like to make a reservation for three on Sunday night.
你︰我想預約星期日三位晚餐。
他可能會繼續問︰
Receptionist: Okay. What time would you like to have dinner?
接線生︰好的，那麼你想甚麼時間進餐呢？
你可以回答︰
Yor: Half past eight, please.
你︰八時半，謝謝。
情景二： 想預約但沒有空餘的位置
Receptionist: Sorry, we are full booking at half past eight.
接線生︰不好意思，我們八點半已經滿了預約。
在這種情況，你可以自己選擇另一個時間︰
You: How about 9 o’clock?
你︰那麼9點呢？
如果有位置的話你會聽到︰
Receptionist: Yes, we have a table available for that.
接線生︰好的，我們九點有位置。
或者你可以問有什麼時段可以選擇︰
You: What time would be available for booking?
你︰有甚麼時間是可以預約？
他會回答︰Receptionist: We have a table available for both 9 o’clock and 10 o’clock.
接線生︰我們九點和十點有空桌。
你可以按他提供的時間選擇︰
B) You: Then 10 o’clock, please.
你︰那麼十點吧。
情況三：詢問dress code
You: Is there any dress code? ／ Does your restaurant have a dress code?
你︰這裡有沒有穿著要求？／ 餐廳有穿著要求嗎？
Receptionist: Yes, we require a formal dress code for both ladies and gentlemen.
接線生︰我們要求女士和男士也要穿著正裝。
Receptionist: No, both casual and formal are welcomed.
接線生︰沒有，不論休閒或正裝也沒有問題。
You: Could we have a table by the window, please?
你︰我可以要一張在窗旁的桌子嗎？
Receptionist: Sure.
接線生︰當然可以！
