IELTS writing band 9 sample Task 1 題目

範文一

From 1992 to 2000, the line graph depicts the total daily call time for local, long distance, and mobile calls in Australia, broken down by kind of call.
Roughly 72 million minutes of local calls were made daily in Australia in 1992, and this rose by incrementally smaller amounts each year until reaching a peak of 84 million minutes per day in 1996, before rapidly declining to approximately 71 million minutes of calls per day in 2000.
The length of time it takes to make long-distance and mobile calls, on the other hand, has climbed steadily since 1992. Long-distance call times were around 32 million minutes per day in 1992, and they have continuously climbed since then, reaching over 49 million minutes per day by 2000. It was only approximately 3 million minutes per day in 1992, but this number has grown at an increasingly fast pace, reaching 10 million minutes per day by 1996 and 40 million minutes per day in 2000.
In general, the number of calls grew, with mobile calls seeming to supplant local calls as a source of replacement. Aside from that, increased globalisation is likely to have resulted in a constant rise in the number of long distance phone calls.

Task 2 題目

While some individuals feel that taking a gap year between high school and university is a smart idea, others vehemently disagree. Consider all sides of the argument before expressing your own viewpoint.
You should justify your response with reasoning and examples drawn from your own knowledge and experience.
Write at least 250 words.

範文二

While gap years are becoming more popular, they are nevertheless divisive since the advantages are difficult to measure. There are counter-arguments on both sides of this hot-button issue, which I shall address presently.
On the one hand, opponents of gap years refer to the high costs associated with plane travel, lodging, and living expenditures. All of this money must come from the student’s family or be borrowed and paid back later. Second, it is often said that gap years divert a young person’s attention away from schoolwork and enable them to engage in activities such as travel. This might make it difficult for students to acclimate to university life, resulting in poor academic achievement. Finally, there is worry about young people’s safety when they go to isolated locations. After all, being abducted or mugged is a bad way to start your academic career.
Supporters of gap years, on the other hand, argue that the benefits outweigh the drawbacks. They emphasize a student’s ability to be independent and assertive in areas such as time management and interpersonal skills. They further claim that these abilities lead to better job success later in life, negating the expenses. In addition, there are several

Examples of young individuals who have used gap years to accomplish something meaningful, whether via volunteer work or working in a field that interests them.
To sum up, I believe that taking a year off may be a beneficial activity, with the experience leading to increased abilities that will be used in the future. Of course, this assumes that the year has been well planned and is being put to good use.
