Listening Part A
Listening

- Connectives (例如:Firstly, At first )
You should … Don’t forget to …
I suggest / propose that you (should) …
例如:What / All you have to do is …

Proposal (格式)
We need to get in our proposal for our next show. You can get all the info in the interview I had with the Evening News TV Page.(Points嘅來源) Regarding costs, round up the figure to the nearest $10,000. Equipment should be more or less the same amount as ‘Flatmates’, but we won’t have to worry about the following expenses(內容):
- studio audience (not allowed to comment on prisoners legally)
- renting a studio for the audience
- prize expenses (no plans for a competition)
- hiring staff (prisoners will operate the cameras)
- location costs (estimate is half the amount paid for ‘Flatmates’)
In conclusion, emphasize how successful ‘Flatmates’ has been and how you hope the new programme will be a success.

2014 DSE DF 9📝
Letter in the Kowloon Herald
March 23, 3014
Dear Editorial,
I’m writing to express my anger about the Kowloon Exotic Pets Hospital. This hospital supports the exotic pet trade. It is doing this by helping people keep exotic pets and is only concerned(-ve 字眼) about making money. It should be shut down immediately.
The trade-in some exotic pets can have some serious(-ve 形容詞) effects. What if a pet owner no longer wants their pet and lets it go into the wild? This damages the ecosystem. Just look at the recent Hong Kong Times story about the alligator gars. Another point(連接詞) is that some exotic animals carry diseases and this can put the public in danger.
I’m sure that others will agree with me.
Yours faithfully,
Mr. W. Squeers

2014 DSE Paper 3 Part B2 Task 8 (DF 6) (節錄)📜
Interview excerpt from student podcast: A different kind of nurse!
Host: Okay, let’s start with the easy question: What is a veterinary nurse? What do you do?(T8)
Ian: Well, most obviously we provide care and support for animals when they get sick. (points)
Host: Okay. Great. So, you just finished your training. What do you think the best bit of being a veterinary nurse is going to be then? (T8)
Ian: I think the clinical duties. In the training, we did so many different things. We even got to do minor surgical procedures. I did a cat that had been in a fight.
Randall: Yeah, I had to do some dental cleaning!

2016 DSE Paper 3 Part B2 (DF 5) Task 10 (節錄)
Minutes from museum staff meeting
Members: Limahl Howard, Building Management Director Lara Gau (你上司),
Public Relations and Retail
內容:
…yesterday during the public holiday, 13 visitors were caught smoking in the toilets at different times.
Ms Gau asked whether the evacuation of the building yesterday afternoon was connected in any way to this.
Mr Howard concurred(意見一致) (最後決定) that this certainly had been the cause of the fire alarm being triggered.
Ms Gau and Mr Howard agreed but pointed out that only full-time staff would be able to assist as part-time staff may finish their shift before the end of a given school group’s visit.
Ms Gau added that part-time staff could help by making worksheets for school groups.
Dr Jones agreed with (同意)(最後決定) the implementation of these points.
